The ONLY way to poop

Roman has been doing a great job of peeing each time he sits on the potty. And, sometimes we are able to catch him mid-poop and take him and set him down on his potty; this time, he raised his leg up on the side and pooped away, quite proudly I might add. I won't mention how he tries to play with it after he's finished....that will just be our little secret (and maybe one to share with his first girlfriend).

11 MONTHS!

Roman turned 11 months old on Wednesday. This has been a big transition month. He's now an almost walking, almost talking little guy that definitely has a mind of his own. He knows what he wants to eat, what he wants to do and when he wants to sleep and there is little negotiating sometimes. That being said, he is still a perfect baby. : ) He was super easy to travel with on our 2-week trip and was a happy baby to everyone he met.

One of his new favorite things is opening and closing doors. He did a lot of this at my mom's house and also practiced his "moving man" skills by constantly rearranging all of her furniture.
He has said ball a few more times and banana; and I think he may be trying to say Madison. He still says mama, dada and he also screeches a lot (my favorite). He raises his finger in the air and says, "ah...ah...ah" a lot; we don't know what it means, but he's serious about it and I'm sure it's quite profound. He has also decided that if he doesn't get banana to eat, then he will try his best high-pitched screech until he does. Unfortunately for him, this did not work out very well, so he stopped.

You will see in the video his nightly routine: When he's finished eating, we ask if he's ready for a bath, and he crawls over to the stairs then up the stairs, into the bathroom and into the tub. You'll also see a clip of him playing at a little playground at the airport, which was great during our one-hour delay; his first taste of lemon; an efficient way of eating watermelon and smoothie and a suitcase ride from Grandma Jan.

Smoothie Break

Roman is SO excited to be home. He was really happy to see Daddy and as soon as we got home he raced over to his music table and started playing as though he had missed it like crazy. He and Daddy crawled around the living room for 4 hours straight while Mommy took a break. I was very proud of how well he did on our two-week trip. He is well-travelled and played so nicely with everyone he met, even people on the plane. I guess his "stranger" phase was short lived. Maybe meeting dozens of people in the last two weeks desensitized him! He sure missed Jagger and Gracie too. He has been crawling all over Jagger this morning, putting his toys on top of him and even laying on him. He's been giving Gracie extra luv-a-luv today too, thankfully she doesn't seem to mind.

SO much easier to clean up this way!

Aunt Kelly and Uncle Donny

Roman got to meet my sister Kelly while in Oklahoma. He went right to her but wasn't sure about Uncle Donny at first. But, then Donny let Roman borrow his hat and all was okay. Of course, Kelly is the one who brought him a giant basket full of toys, so she couldn't lose!

Four Generations

Roman finally got to meet his Great Grandpa Earl and his Great Grandma Kittie. When he first saw GG Kittie, he literally dove at her with a huge smile on his face. I guess he recognized her! He also loved playing with GG Earl and feeling his prickly whiskers. He happily went to everyone that day without hesitation, which is funny since lately he's had a little trepidation about strangers, but I guess he knew where he was and knew they were family. Below is a picture with his Auntie Carol, she was feeding him watermelon so he really liked her!

Thirsty?

Roman had a lot of fun playing in the sprinkler with Grandpa, especially since it's 100 degrees everyday in Okla!

Mmmm...Raw Food!

Roman loved his avocado slices and zucchini bread at the new Raw Food restaurant in OKC, as did Grandpa, Auntie Lisa and Cousin Kittie.

The Dino Exhibit at Union Station

This was our first stop on our big two-week trip away from home. We saw the Dinosaur Exhibit at Union Station with our friends Kristina and Braxton. Roman thought the moving dinos were pretty cool. We also ate vegan nachos and cashew ice cream then went to the 1st annual Bliss Fest in Kansas City. Braxton is so good with babies and Roman thought he was just great- what fun!
