Applause for Roman

I've been trying to get him to clap his hands for a while now with no success. Finally, yesterday he got up on the fire place and couldn't get down, so he hollered for me. I came over and clapped my hands, then walked away. At first, he yelled, "Ahhh!" Then...he clapped his hands once. So, I came back and clapped again, then walked away. So, he clapped his hands again, three times. So, I came back. We did this a few more times while I searched for the video camera. But, I couldn't find it, so you get to see him clapping his hands the second time, that night during dinner; it's the most fun at dinner because he has food all over his hands and he just loves how it splatters all over the place.

100 degrees makes for sleepy boys!

We started the morning by doing some gardening, then quickly came inside! The poor AC was working overtime today...

Jammin...

I think this is normal baby behavior, but he spends all day playing all of his musical toys and dancing. He dances when I sing to him and he dances when I stop so that I'll do it again. He even dances while he's nursing! What do you think...Brishnikoff or Eddie Van Halen?

This is Roman's pretty face

Every time Roman sees the camera now, this is the face he makes. I guess he's figured out how to ham it up. Someday he'll regret this....

Vroom! Vroom!... goes the tupperware

This is what he does all day now, push objects around the floor and up the walls. Anything will do, the dog dish, cups, trucks, balls, shoes; you name it!

10 Months!

32 inches and more than 18 lbs., although he is still mostly nursing, he is growing! I can't believe that he is half as tall as me! He continues to enjoy sharing my green smoothie most mornings and some avocado, spinach and carrots or banana with almond butter or tahini for dinner. We also take his mesh feeder and an apple everywhere we go because it comes in really handy when someone gets tired of his car seat.

He has been enjoying walking practice and knows that it is a "big boy" endeavor that he is proud to show off. I was going to buy a toy for him to stand and push, but it seems we already have one- the end table; he pushes it all over the living room. He dances a lot and is starting to experiment with clapping his hands. He pees in the potty every morning and sometimes when I notice the signs of impending poop I put him on the potty and he does his business. Not so fun to clean up though....
He is busy most of the day pushing around trucks and helicopters (and bowls and remotes) around things, over things (incl. the dog) and up things- the sofa or the wall. He is saying ma-ma-ma-ma-ma more often and seemingly on purpose though it's still mostly when he's upset or wants something. Jagger is still "Ga" and we hear da da on occasion. He still adores talking to himself in the mirror and he absolutely loves watching videos of himself. He also gives lots of luv-a-luv, hugs and kisses.

Yes, he DOES cry sometimes...

A special photo for those of you who weren't sure if he ever cried. He does from time to time protest whether it's putting him down when he wants to be held or the scratchy feeling of the grass, but thankfully it is short-lived, usually only 5 seconds or so.

Ride'm cowboy!

This is the outfit my sister sent. She said she thought he might need it, "just in case he was ever out of the pool long enough to need clothing." : )
