If you want to see a great movie, watch "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead." It's an entertaining look at what one Aussie did to get healthy when the doctors had given up on him.

Joosch!
Roman is helping Daddy make some fresh juice, or Joosch as Roman calls it. Kale, apples, lemon, carrots, beet- he loves it! Although we usually drink green smoothies, sometimes we make some fresh juice, just because it tastes so good. People can hardly believe that our 2-year-old son has NEVER been sick, but he has the healthiest diet of anyone we know so it makes sense really.

jane, i'd love any resources you have on your diet and raising a toddler on it... m is dairy and soy free now but i'm struggling to find variations in her diet. we bought a health master (it's no vitamix) but can't remember some of the books you told me on facebook. i'd really appreciate it! he is such a great little boy!
I will email you a couple of things that might help. The main obstacle is wrapping your head around a new way and throwing out the old way of thinking about "what they need." Here is a sample of Roman's daily menu:
green smoothie, apple slices with almond butter, 1/4 c of nuts, dehydrated zucchini bread with banana and almond butter, a Lara bar or dehydrated buckwheat granola, a steamed and diced sweet potato with coconut oil, a cup of frz peas, a whole avocado and a glass of fresh almond milk. But he ate mostly breast milk until he was 15-18 months. He will sometimes have an egg or some lentil soup and he's finally getting better at eating what we're having, which is mostly raw.
jane, thanks again for your email. it's been soooooo helpful. in fact, i just realized i have another reply to you saved i haven't finished. oops. and brian is getting on board, which you know is half the battle.
