Odin is 5 Months!

5 months, I can't believe it. How can something so precious make you so sad? I think he is trying to stay my tiny baby because he has barely gained any weight. He is just almost 14 lbs. but at about 26 inches, he is still growing well. He kicks his little legs night and day and just loves his bouncy (Roman never took to it). He also rolls over and over and around and around- I wake up and he is in all different positions and has definitely figured out how to roll over and grab what he wants at night. Those tiny fingers and sharp little nails have a laser-like accuracy when it comes to finding my nipples.

The more I try to feed him, the more he spits up, so he's getting plenty to eat and sleeping great at night. I suppose this is where Roman was getting extra calories. Odin might wake up around midnight for a quick pee, but goes back to sleep quickly, then wakes at 2:00 or 3:00 to nurse, then sleeps until 7:00; not too shabby.

Odin has finally started to become mommy-soured (that's from the horse term, "buddy-soured" when horses become best friends and misbehave when they're together and get jealous when they're apart). Odin now makes it perfectly clear that he prefers to be in my arms. He can be perfectly content and then, upon hearing my voice, become perfectly discontented. But, thankfully, Daddy knows how to deal with that. He is still, however, completely in love with Roman. He is just desperate to get in the bath with Roman, play trains with Roman, roll around on the floor with Roman. It's amazing what he tolerates- from giant hugs to being laid on. In the car, Odin just stares at Roman with this huge grin, as if to say, "You are just SO cool!."

Click here for a look back at one of my favorite photos of Roman at this age. Or, here for a hilarious video of Roman talking to PaPa.

Here are some video highlights of Odin talking and laughing and bouncing.  The final clip is just audio, but it's of Roman singing a song he heard his friend Ricky singing- "I like to move it, move it!"
